NOVEMBER PROGRAMS AVAILABLE NOW!

MVM is excited to announce our second round of fall music programs!  All classes are on a “pay what you can afford” basis from $0-$150 and are held at 8514 SE Stark St. 97216. Classes are filled on a first come, first served basis and all forms must be received by Monday, November 5th.  Registration forms can be printed out and mailed to P.O. Lessons & Jam Night:

Fridays starting on 11/9 from 6:00 – 8:00

*This is a drop-in time for high school students, ages 14-17, to hone their musical skills.  Students looking to learn a new instrument or simply wanting to add to their musical knowledge will be aided by staff on hand.  Any level of musical experience is encouraged to attend.

Rock Band 101:

Saturdays starting on 11/10 – 12/15 from 12:30 – 2:30

*A fast-paced introduction to music and performance available to students with or without musical experience that explores what it takes to be in a band and create music!

Song Writing & Recording:                                                                                        

Saturdays starting on 11/10 – 12/15 from 3:00 – 5:00 

*In this group, students will learn basic song structure, which includes lyrics, chords, melody, and song arrangements. Students will have the opportunity to work with MVM staff to record and produce their work. Although this group is designed for individual songwriters, students will have the opportunity to collaborate with one another to enhance the development of their songwriting/recording skills, as well as leadership and team-building skills.

Cypher 101 (Hip-Hop):

Saturdays starting 11/10 – 12/15 from 5:30 – 7:30

*This group class will teach students how to freestyle rap. During the course of the class, students will participate in different freestyle and rhyming exercises, while being encouraged to step outside of their comfort bubble.

Drumming:

Sundays starting 11/11 – 12/16 from 1:30 – 3:30

*This is a group class that will cover new techniques, rhythms and other important skills that will add to any drummer’s tool kit.
