Hip Hop Summer Camp

My Voice Music and Ascending Flow are teaming up for a week-long Hip Hop Summer Camp focused on creativity, collaboration, and self-expression. Youth ages 10–15 will explore Hip Hop and the four elements through hands-on workshops in music, movement, art, and culture while building confidence and creative skills in a supportive environment. Youth will have the opportunity to participate in Hip-Hop workshops, as well as to share or perform their original music on stage if they feel inspired to do so.

Camp Details

Dates: July 20–24
Days: Monday–Friday
Time: 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM
Location: 8911 SE Stark St. Portland, OR 97216
Ages: 10-15

Campers will:

  • Write and record original Hip Hop songs

  • Produce beats

  • Learn about Hip Hop history and culture

  • Collaborate with other young artists

  • Gain hands-on experience using music equipment and creative tools

build skills in: 

  • Rhythm & Flow

  • Songwriting

  • Collaboration

  • Studio Recording

  • Hip-Hop Culture

engage in activities centered around:

  • MCing / songwriting

  • DJing and mixing

  • Breaking (dance)

  • Graffiti art
