MY VOICE MUSIC RECEIVES SIGNIFICANT RECOGNITION FROM THE OREGON ARTS COMMISSION!
ON JULY 16TH, MY VOICE MUSIC WAS AWARDED A $5,000 GRANT FROM THE OREGON ARTS COMMISSION! THE OAC’S OPERATING SUPPORT GRANTS FUND THE OPERATIONS OF OREGON’S LEADING ARTS GROUPS AND ACKNOWLEDGE THE ROLE THOSE ORGANIZATIONS PLAY IN OREGON’S SOCIAL, EDUCATIONAL AND ECONOMIC ARENAS. MY VOICE MUSIC, ALONG WITH THE OTHER NON-PROFITS, RECEIVED OPERATING SUPPORT OR ARTS SERVICES GRANTS FOR PROGRAMS THAT HAD YOUTH, SCHOLASTIC OR LIFELONG LEARNING COMPONENTS. WE ARE PROUD TO HAVE OUR NAME ON A LIST WITH SUCH DISTINGUISHED ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT OREGON!
In announcing the grants, Christine D’Arcy, Executive Director of the Arts Commission, notes, “These arts organizations are not only enabling Oregonians to experience great art, live performances and new works, they’re making Oregon a better place by retaining jobs, inspiring students and providing lifelong learning for our citizens.” In reaction to the news, Ian Mouser, My Voice Music’s Executive Director, stated, “This grant acknowledges My Voice Music’s commitment to create high quality music while serving some of Portland’s most vulnerable youth and working to build up our next generation of arts leaders through mentorship. This recognition from the Oregon Arts Commission highlights the critical role organizations like My Voice Music play in igniting creative expression and developing deep character in youth.”
