Programs Outreach Coordinator, Job Description: 

Job Description:

It is the job of My Voice Music’s Program Manager to

  • Facilitate existing Programs including; the preparation and submission of contracts, budgets, & Requests for Proposals; scheduling of MVM Studios classes, teachers and recording sessions.

  • Work with Executive Director to establish & implement an outreach program to youth service organizations, schools, nearby communities & families, cohort organizations, etc. in order to raise awareness of programming at My Voice Music Studios as a valuable community resource and increase youth attendance.

  • Coordinate volunteers for MVM Programming.

  • Implement volunteer training and outreach plan that will increase the amount of reliable & skilled volunteers who can serve as mentors, studio engineers, volunteer teachers, and artistic collaborators with MVM youth.

  • Represent MVM’s work in the community, ie; boothing, etc.

  • Coordination of Student Concerts and other community programming events

 

Essential Skills

  • General Computer Competencies including basic web and blog editing skills

  • Microsoft Office Skills:  Able to create program registration forms; program catalogues; program proposals; budgets

  • General attitude and use of language that is respectful to and about all colleagues, youth, affiliates of My Voice Music, program partners, and individuals in general.

  • Correspond warmly and professionally in email, phone, meetings, and other modes of communication.

  • Able to articulate concepts succinctly and professionally, and posses respect for coworkers time outside of scheduled meetings

  • Self motivated and proactive in accomplishing tasks

  • Able to take on challenges when clear solutions are hard to identify and work to find solutions and seek assistance from other staff and/or community resources

 

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Ability to write, perform, & record music (rock, hip hop, pop, etc)

  • 2 years of Teaching experience

  • 2 years of Professional Experience working with disengaged youth

  • Strong ties to music community and/or youth service communities

The Program Manager is directly accountable to the Executive Director.  Job responsibilities may fall outside of the scope of this description.

 

Hours:  20hrs weekly

Wage:  $17.50 hrly
