NEED SOME GOOD NEWS? CHECK OUT OUR 2018 ANNUAL REPORT!

“MVM made me care enough to actually try and want to take better care of myself” – Mack (Student at MVM Studios)

“For the youth at SAGE, music plays an incredibly significant and impactful role in their treatment process” – SAGE Staff Member (SAGE treats survivors of commercial sexual exploitation, & domestic sex trafficking)

Hello friends,

Thank you for showing up for MVM last year! Together, we served 1,500 youth. Together, we helped them find and share their voice– to become emcees, drummers, guitarists, studio engineers, and singer-songwriters.

1,100 of those young people were in treatment facilities recovering from trauma and mental health crisis. The other 400 attended classes and summer camps at MVM Studios. 70% participated for free.

Our student pool is diverse, but we approach every session with sensitivity to the challenges that all young people face. MVM teaching artists use music and compassionate facilitation to foster students’ will to show up and take care of themselves and their communities.

I encourage you to take a moment to read the annual report here . Testimonies like Mack’s and the incredible organizations we partner with like SAGE are a humbling reminder of how life changing this work can be.

This year we are expanding services offered at MVM Studios through the After School Open Studio Program and sliding scale therapy . Learn more and raise a glass with us at 10 Barrel Brewery (on 9/24) or at MVM XI (10/26).

Thank you for your support. Keep on rockin’ and making good things happen!
